50 years ago: Second Vatican Council concludes

On December 8, 1965, Pope Paul VI adjourned the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council, concluding the ecumenical council that had been convoked by his predecessor, Pope John XXIII, and opened on October 11, 1962.
